I'm back and what I've been up to...

To say I've been away for a little while is an understatement! My last post was in February...this will be my "I'm back and am going to try this thing again" post ;)

So in the last few months I've shown at Craft Saturday in April and Market Day in May. We are also expecting baby #2 in October (another boy! YAY!). Between sewing for my shows and getting ready for our baby it's been hard to find time to sit down and write about all the things that have been going on.

First let me show you photos from my booth at Craft Saturday. This was my first experience being a vendor at this show and I'm so glad I did! It was a super fun event with a great crowd and the cream of the crop as far as vendors go. I hope to be able to show at this one again!

Next Market Day....ahhh...I LOVE this show! I did all but one of the dates last year and had such a blast. I was so happy to be accepted into this years show as well. May was our first month at the new location (4th and Walnut at the Des Moines Social Club) And if you think that's close to the Farmer's Market then you are right! It's right smack in the middle of everything! We had an AMAZING amount of awesome shoppers come out to support us. It's always wonderful to get to talk to the vendors (40ish this time around!) There is really something for everyone--whether you are into fine silver jewelry, crocheted food, or fine art photos there will sure to be something you'll fall in love with!

My latest project was for baby #2--a mei tai style baby carrier. My very first attempt at anything like this....I, of course, was skeptical that I could do it (in my first try!) but it turned out to be so fun and easy! I found a great pattern online then took a trip to the fabric store! I used a pale yellow check fabric for the straps and a pale yellow vintage print fabric for the body. I REALLY love the finished carrier. This is my first attempt and I'm pretty proud of myself ;) (Also, sorry about the mirror shots...Dave wasn't home to take the photos and I was so excited to put them up here!)

Well, this is the longest post I've made so far...I think I'll stop for now. But, be sure to check back as I'm DETERMINED to make this at least a weekly endeavor :)
